Built by investigators. Not just engineers.
HijackShield was designed and engineered by founders with deep roots in digital forensics, security investigations, and enterprise security engineering.
Our founders formerly held engineering roles at companies such as HBGary, Guidance Software, Mandiant, and Google. They have each spent more than a decade working with federal Defense and Intelligence agencies, and have prior experience in law enforcement. Collectively, they bring decades of combined experience in digital forensics, security investigations, and real-world incident response. Their backgrounds include supporting investigations across Fortune 100 companies, as well as federal civilian, intelligence, and defense agencies.
That experience matters because phishing is not a theoretical problem. It is one of the most common starting points for real incidents. We have seen how malware evolved beyond signatures, how IDS evolved into IPS, how endpoint detection matured around behavioral activity, and how threat frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK helped formalize adversary behavior. The same lesson applies here: difficult security problems get solved through deep behavioral understanding, not shallow pattern matching.
HijackShield reflects that philosophy. It was built by people who have spent thousands of hours examining file systems, memory, logs, attack workflows, and real compromises — not just studying phishing from a distance. That perspective shaped the product from the beginning. We did not want to build another tool that looked good in marketing copy but failed against real adversaries. We wanted to build a solution that could stand up to the way phishing actually works in the real world, including the deceptive browser-side techniques that modern phishing kits now use to hide content, stage login flows, and transmit stolen data.
We also care deeply about the human side of this problem. Phishing does not only lead to security incidents. It is highly criminal activity that leads to fraud, lost time, confused employees, damaged trust, embarrassed organizations, and in some cases very real financial harm. HijackShield was built to protect people as much as systems.
Meet the founders

Joe Riggins
CEO & Co-Founder
Joe brings more than three decades of field experience in cyber incident investigations, enterprise security deployments, and next-generation product development. His career spans military, DoD, law enforcement, and Fortune 500 environments, with leadership roles at IBM, Guidance Software, HBGary, Nuix, and Mandiant (now Google). A self-taught practitioner whose hands-on work predates formal certifications in the field, Joe has spent his career at the intersection of investigation, innovation, and go-to-market strategy — building the security solutions customers actually need.

Roger Andras
CTO & Founder
Roger brings 25 years of experience in technical security investigations to HijackShield. His career spans roles as a Senior Cloud Security Engineer and AI Architect, Lead Federal Solution Consultant, Incident Response Specialist, and Computer Crime Investigator, with deep expertise in digital forensic incident response. He is the technical creator of the Guidance Software CFSR security certification and has guest lectured at DGI, InfraGard, SANSFire, CEIC, and the Baltimore School of Law.
